The Basset Hound is a short-legged member of the hound family. They are scent hounds with a sense of smell for tracking that is second only to that of the Bloodhound. The Basset Hound will grow to 35-60 lbs and is an especially loyal breed, known for having a pleasant disposition. They are friendly and excellent with children and other pets.
